Commercial Cold Water Pressure Washers

9 products

Cold water handles dirt, mud and general grime perfectly well, and for a great deal of exterior work it is all you need. Where it falls down is anything organic or petroleum-based — that is where heat stops being a luxury.

The machines here run from a 4.2 GPM roller cart up to a 10 GPM Bandit skid. If you are doing flatwork, buy the flow: a 8 GPM machine will out-work a higher-pressure 4 GPM machine on any large surface, and it is not close.

How to choose a cold water machine

A cold water machine is a production tool, and the two numbers that decide how fast it works are the same two that matter on any pressure washer: GPM and PSI. PSI breaks the bond holding soil to the surface; GPM carries it away. On broad, flat and repeatable surfaces, flow wins — a machine short on flow spends its time scrubbing, while a machine short on pressure will smear grime it looked like it was cutting. Our PSI vs. GPM guide lays out the whole trade-off.

Match the spec to the work. For concrete and general exterior grime — sidewalks, driveways, patios, equipment, building exteriors — a mid-pressure cold machine with honest flow does the job, and a higher-GPM unit with a surface cleaner out-produces a higher-PSI unit that lacks flow. If the soil is organic or petroleum-based — oils, road film, barn washdown — cold water only goes so far; that is the sign to look at hot water instead, where heat does the releasing that pressure alone cannot.

Pick the format to how you work. If the machine travels to the job in a truck or trailer, a skid bolts down and runs off its own tank. If it stays at one shop or moves around by hand, a cart is easier to steer and store. A stationary install makes sense for a fixed wash bay with proper supply plumbing. Wrong format is the most common reason a perfectly good machine frustrates a crew — it is in the wrong place or plumbed to the wrong water.

Why buy from a shop with a repair bay. A cold water machine is mechanically simple, but it still has a pump, an unloader and a belt drive that need real service. The value of buying from a dealer who fixes the machines in-house is that the same shop that sold you the unit keeps it running — tune the unloader, service the pump, source the hose and nozzles — instead of sending it away or leaving you to figure out the damage. That is exactly what our repair bay is for, and it is a big part of why crews keep coming back for the next machine.

Cold water pressure washer — quick answers

When is a cold water machine enough?
For dirt, mud and general exterior grime — concrete, machinery, siding, vehicles — cold water at the right pressure and flow is all you need. Where it falls down is organic or petroleum-based soil like oils, road film and barn washdown; there heat does the releasing and a cold machine only polishes.
What GPM should I buy for a cold water machine?
On flatwork and large surfaces, buy flow. A lower-PSI machine with 8 GPM and a surface cleaner will out-produce a high-PSI machine that is short on flow, and the difference is not close once you are covering big square footage. Match the GPM to what your water source can actually supply.
Cold water skid or cart?
If the machine travels to the job, a skid bolts into the bed and runs off its own tank. If it stays put or moves around by hand, a cart is easier to steer and store. A fixed wash bay calls for a stationary install with proper supply plumbing. Pick the format to how you actually work.
